Dubai Internet City Conducts Third Edition of The UAE Awards for Good

Dubai Internet City (DIC), a member of TECOM Group, has announced that it has hosted the third edition of the UAE Awards for Good, which took place at the Dubai Internet City Amphitheatre on February 17-18.

The UAE Awards for Good was divided into two competitions – the UAE Drones for Good and the UAE AI and Robotics Award for Good, which were both open to global and regional participants and dedicated to transforming drones, robotics and AI technologies into practical solutions for improving people’s lives today.

Dubai Internet City hosted the UAE Awards for Good for the third consecutive year and has since turned the competition into a source of inspiration and innovation for local start-ups, entrepreneurs and multinational corporations to participate in drone and robotic development. As Dubai continues its journey towards a fully-pledged smart city, drone and robotic technologies can be keys in fostering economic growth through technological advancement. 

In support of the UAE government’s vision of becoming a global hub for innovation and a robust knowledge economy, Dubai Internet City will continue to support such initiatives to attract local and global talent essential in driving Dubai’s digital transformation. This year’s UAE Drones for Good competition featured 20 selected finalists from the UAE and around the globe to showcase the most creative and innovative usage of drones in providing technological solutions to modern day issues.

On display during the 2-day competition were drone applications for civil defense, search & rescue, healthcare, security surveillance and location delivery. On the other hand, the UAE AI & Robotics Award for Good supported innovation in the artificial intelligence and robotics sector. With 20 selected finalists showcasing during the event, the competition was aimed at encouraging research and innovative solutions that meet existing challenges in the fields of health, education and social services.
