Guidance Software, the makers of EnCase, a forensic security solution, have announced their participation in the fifth regional cyber security summit to be held from October 30 – November 1 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

Guidance will use the event as a platform to educate enterprises and government organizations on the need to deploy security solutions that go beyond protecting just the perimeter and to that end, will highlight the capabilities of their endpoint data security and digital forensic solutions including EnCase Endpoint Security, EnCase Endpoint Investigator, EnCase eDiscovery and EnForce Risk Manager.

Commenting on the importance of a holistic approach to security that addresses the entire network, Helmi Landosi, Territory Sales Manager MEA, Guidance Software, says, “Loss of sensitive data and disruption to IT systems is one of the greatest risks that organizations in the Middle East and Africa are facing today. Adding to this vulnerability, are the rising frequency of attacks, growing costs of remediation, and lengthening time-to-response. Detecting and preventing attacks today, starts with deploying multiple layers of defense. Organizations need to move away from a myopic focus on perimeter security and take a proactive approach to tracking down any warning signs of unauthorized or unusual behavior within their networks with endpoint detection and response technology.”

On the third day of the conference, Helmi and Yasser Anter, senior solution consultant MEA, will conduct a technical presentation on EnCase Endpoint Security. Designed to enable cybersecurity professionals to proactively address critical gaps in their security framework, the effectiveness of EnCase Endpoint Security lies in its ability to accelerate the detection of malicious activity and remediate it before it can cause irreparable damage or loss of sensitive data. Key benefits of the solution include:

  • Faster detection – creates a baseline of endpoint activity enabling both a historical record that can be used to recreate how a breach occurred as well as the ability to detect anomalous activity indicative of an undetected compromise
  • Quicker Response – enables security teams to accelerate response time to network security breaches and significantly reduce the risk of serious data loss and associated liabilities
  • Effective Recovery – Once malware or a risk of sensitive data is exposed and identified, EnCase Endpoint Security lets security teams take definitive action and remove any reliance on traditional remediation processes like wiping and reimaging, which results in costly system downtime, loss of productivity and potential revenue loss
  • Continuous Monitoring – Real-time continuous monitoring capabilities provide the necessary level of visibility and depth of reach required to deliver this capability across all network endpoints in a highly-scalable manner

“Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) in any country are the first line of defense when breaches and disasters happen. This event, which brings together key security decision makers from leading regional and global enterprises and government security organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), ITU Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center (ITU-ARCC) and Oman CERT, provides us with a platform to showcase how our solutions can help security teams detect, respond to and remediate threats quicker and as such ensure that their organizations’ most valuable information and assets are safe and secure,” concluded Helmi.
