Security software company, Avast Software today announced that it is planning to buy its Holland based rival security firm, AVG for almost US$ 1.3b to help it expand and consolidate its position in the market.
The company offers free and paid IT security for personal computers and mobile devices to both businesses and individuals. Avast has a wide install base globally with more than 230 million users worldwide.
