Meta Byte offers express risk assessments to the enterprises
Meta Byte Technologies, teams up with Varonis to deliver an “Express” version of Varonis’ Unstructured Data Risk Assessment to any organization in the Middle East hoping to quantify and prioritize areas where sensitive data is potentially at risk.
In a statement, the company said, “Organizations store important and sensitive unstructured data across their file shares, intranets and email systems in the form of word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, emails, images, audio, and video files that are created and shared by employees every day. This data is growing exponentially, and as it does organizations are struggling to keep pace with appropriate access privileges, usage and the associated business alignment and relevance. Without proper insight into where sensitive data lives and who has access to it organizations are at significant risk from both external and internal threats.”
Based on nearly a decade of expertise in unstructured data analysis and security, the Varonis Express Unstructured Data Risk Assessment can be used by enterprises to scope and prioritize remediation efforts that will significantly reduce the threat of data loss, theft or misuse.
Salil Dighe, Founder and CEO at Meta Byte Technologies, said, “Today with the rise of internal and external cyber threats, it is of paramount importance for enterprises in the region to stay alert and be aware of the vulnerabilities so that they can analyze, quantify and take remedial actions. Meta Byte along with Varonis have launched this campaign to help enterprises in the Middle East assess, quantify and prioritize areas where sensitive data is potentially at risk.”
Working in concert with a company’s IT staff, Varonis engineers will collect and analyze metadata from key infrastructure components and return a detailed analysis to be reviewed with the staff. The analysis will summarize key findings, rank identified weaknesses in order of risk, and provide a recommendation for remediation. A typical assessment takes about 30 days.
Dietrich Benjes, Varonis Vice President of Sales for the U.K., Ireland and Middle East said, “For the last decade, Varonis has been helping thousands of organizations around the world manage, protect and get more out of their human-generated data. With Meta Byte Technologies’ support, we are glad to extend our Express Unstructured Data Risk Assessment in the Middle East region and are confident that enterprises there will be eager to discover any vulnerabilities inherent in their rapidly growing volumes of unstructured data. In many cases no one is aware that this information is widely accessible, often by everyone in the company, and potentially by outsiders as well. With the new Express version of our Risk Assessment, any organization can look at a portion of their most sensitive data assets and get a fast, accurate picture of how at risk they really are on the inside, where it counts.”
