Dubai-based mobile device maker Quantum Global plans to expand its distribution footprint into Nigeria.

The move follows the company’s successful meeting at DISTREE Africa, where Quantum struck a verbal agreement to appoint Slot as a distributor and retail partner in Nigeria.

According to the company, the move to partner with Slot is part of a wider strategy tha will see it appoint strategic partners in the Middle East and Africa.

Faraz Ali Khan, marketing manager at Quantum, said: “We have a verbal agreement in place with Slot in Nigeria. It is a distribution deal, but Slot will also stock Quantum in their 50 retail stores. Slot will visit us in the UAE where we will finalise and sign the agreement.”

Nnamdi Ezeigbo, managing director, Slot, remarked: “We are pleased with the look, feel and capabilities of Quantum products and smartphones. I believe these will appeal to tech-savvy Nigerians who are increasingly passionate about owning trendy and sleek devices.”

Ezeigbo added: “Quantum has also promised a three-year warranty for its tablets and smartphones. We expect this collaboration to bring real value to both companies and we look forward to extending these benefits to Nigerian customers.”

Khan continued: “Quantum wants to have a distributor in each country that is also capable of providing after-sales service for our products. We have agreed on the products and pricing. Slot will take the full range of Quantum tablets and we will then look to extend the agreement to cover Quantum smartphones this summer.”

Khan added that: “We are very pleased to have come to an agreement with Slot – a retailer that plans to extend its presence to 200 retail stores. We expect the first Quantum products to be shipped to Slot in July.”
