Huawei announced that it worked closely with Ajman Municipality to deploy its WiFi solution, which delivers widespread coverage across all of its municipal buildings.
Replacing a wired infrastructure, Huawei deployed a secured wireless environment at the Municipality enabling a more connected and more productive mobile workforce. In addition, the WiFi solution provides the Municipality with a flexible and comprehensive infrastructure that is capable of supporting sustainable development and future growth of the network.
Yousuf Mohammed Al Shaiba, Director of Smart Services Development Department said: “The deployment of the WiFi network marks the first step in delivering the promises we set out in our vision 2021 for Ajman. We believed that in order to take our Ajman vision 2021 from concept to reality, we had to first become a smart organization. Huawei’s WiFi solution future-proofs our network, offers connectivity services to citizens visiting our facilities and gives our employees increased flexibility to work at any location on-site.”
In line with the UAE government’s mandate to adopt state-of-the-art ICT infrastructures that improve levels of internal efficiency and develop services that comply with industry standards of excellence, Ajman Municipality realised it required a more flexible wireless infrastructure for its workforce.
“Developing an internal intelligent connected infrastructure, which offers its employees the latest in WiFi connectivity, is a powerful way for Ajman Municipality to start delivering against its 2021 vision. The municipality is now able to offer extended WiFi capabilities across its main office and six remote sites of the municipal buildings. Up to 700 users are able to be connected on a fast, flexible and secure wireless network at the same time,” said Sufian Dweik, Vice President of Huawei Enterprise in the UAE.
With a strong heritage of building and deploying wireless broadband networks in the region, Huawei has recently implemented a number of WiFi networking projects for enterprises in the UAE.
