Etisalat, Ericsson strengthen strategic alliance

Following a strategic meeting between Etisalat and Ericsson in Sweden recently, the two companies have announced a strategic partnership to extend collaboration in new areas and strengthen their market leading position as trusted ICT partners of government, industry and enterprise business.

A delegation of Etisalat executive management including group CEO Ahmed Abdulkarim Julfar met Ericsson president and CEO Hans Vestberg at the vendor’s headquarters in Stockholm. The purpose of the strategic visit was to discuss industry trends, Ericsson’s vision of a networked society and agree on strategic areas, where the two companies could further strengthen their partnership.

The two companies agreed to jointly evaluate and identify enterprise opportunities for collaboration.

Julfar said: “As a leader in technological development, Etisalat is dedicated to innovation and our continued partnership with Ericsson enables us to extend our pioneering solutions to enterprises and industry. We have taken further steps towards the digital revolution and continue to update our infrastructure in light of the current transformation in ICT. We are excited to move towards a networked society in innovative ways, ensuring that we support enterprises and government in our operating countries to remain at the forefront of technology.”

Vestberg added: “Our collaboration with Etisalat is another step towards fulfilling our networked society vision. Together, we are addressing key challenges in the region related to innovation, digital infrastructure, speed of deployment, and flexibility. As partners, we are able to provide pioneering ICT infrastructure and solutions to the Government, Industry and Enterprise sectors in Etisalat operating countries, further enabling its Smart City Vision.”
