Bahrain-based distributor AJM Kooheji Group, has revealed that it’s planning to grow its mobile and IT business by partnering with strategic mobile devices vendors in the region.
The company said the move to build its mobile and IT business comes at a time when the group wants to diversify its consumer electronics portfolio.
Sanjeev Awasthi, COO, Home Appliances and Electronics Division, AJM Kooheji Group, said the company has from the start of 2015, been signing new alliances to strengthen it mobile and IT product range.
Awasthi said the company sees the mobile space as the next phase in technology that will spur growth hence the need to on board strategic brands that fit the company’s vision. “We are at DISTREE Middle East to meet with good tablet and smartphone brands that can help us expand our mobile devices offering,” he said. “We are looking at partnering with vendors that are committed to developing the business in Bahrain and the wider Middle East.”
He added that as AJM is looking to grow its mobile devices business, it’s critical that it works with vendors that share a common vision and passion to grow this business by helping the company to create compelling value to all retail partners in Bahrain.
Awasthi said although AJM is a well-known distributor of home appliances, security systems and commercial air conditioning solutions, its IT and mobile divisions have been under represented. “We have noted this and that’s why we have moved to change this imbalance and earlier this year, we started partnering with brands like JBL, Harman and Ctroniq to boost our array,” he said.
He pointed out that in addition to signing new vendors, the company has strengthened its alliances with retailers such as Lulu and Sharaf DG in Bahrain. “We believe DISTREE is the perfect platform for us to engage with vendors and retailers, and to also hear from our peers from other countries across the region on how they are innovating and overcoming some of the challenges in the market,” he said.
