T-Systems in South Africa has announced that the company has been re-certified by SAP as a ‘Partner Centre of Expertise’ (PCoE).

According to the company, the extended validity of this support-centre certification is for a further two years ending 31 March 2017.

T-Systems said that being one of the first organisations in Africa and the first in South Africa to hold this certification since 2012 is testament to its ongoing ability for excellence in supporting SAP customers.

This is a reflection of the rationale behind the introduction of the PCoE certification in 2011, to ensure all indirect customers using SAP software receive consistent, high-quality support from their partners.

“Since then, T-Systems in South Africa has continued to support this programme and deliver excellence in maintenance and support services of SAP Business All-in-One solutions and Analytics solutions from SAP. In addition, T-Systems has also achieved certification for SAP HANA, demonstrating its ability to sell, support and maintain SAP’s flagship platform. For T-Systems, the PCOE re-certification is a basic building block that sets the stage for shifting our business from service provider to business enabler,” said Shubna Harilal, head, Horizontal and Future Solutions, T-Systems South Africa.

Harilal added that: “We take pride in ensuring that we adhere to the standards and levels that SAP deems fit for support of its partner managed application and technology products. This re-certification demonstrates our commitment to SAP, ensuring the manner in which we deliver both implementation and support services is beyond client expectations. Our relationship with SAP has grown over the years to become multi-dimensional and mutually beneficial, and there is significant synergy to be leveraged within our areas of focus, including analytics, big data and the public and private healthcare vertical.”

This re-certification provides T-Systems’ customers with the assurance that they receive SAP support that is equal to the support that SAP would provide directly. T-Systems’ customers can thus leverage an end-to-end ICT offering, including SAP capability, in a way that is relevant to their business.

Harilal explained that as part of T-Systems’ commitment to customers, the company assists them with the establishment of their own SAP Centres of Excellence, empowering them to deliver appropriate SAP services within their own internal environments. “In the spirit of nation-building, we take in young graduates and skill them up to become competent SAP consultants. This is done to create a sustainable skills pool and we offer our customers first preference to employ these resources to service their Centres of Excellence. This model has worked very successfully with our current customers,” said Harilal.
