TechSoup and Microsoft have partnered to offer Office 365 to nonprofits for FREE in 100 countries according to a manager at TechSoup. An announcement that has gone viral by e-mail has set off a frenzy of excitement among the African non-profits.On e-mail on Uganda’s I-Network, an association of ICT practitioners and professionals shared the link while mentioning that Microsoft had added Uganda and Tanzania.
Elijah van der Giessen Community Manager, NetSquared program at TechSoup sent out an e-mail alerting various non-profits about the development and sharing the link to the new resource.
On the microsoft website, it is clearly stated that “With the Office 365 Nonprofit donation, qualified nonprofits get Office 365 for free or at a significant discount. Office 365 will reduce your costs, increase your organizational capacity, and foster better team collaboration, so you can do more good and create more impact.”
The arrangement is such that: there is are Free Offerings for Nonprofits, this includes Office 365 Nonprofit Business Essentials, Office 365 Nonprofit E1. There is also the Discount Offerings for Nonprofits that includes Office 365 Nonprofit Business Premium, Office 365 Nonprofit E3.
