CommVault has announced an arrangement with NaviSite, a Time Warner Cable company and premier provider of enterprise-class hosting, managed applications, managed messaging and managed cloud services, to extend the data protection capabilities of Simpana software to NaviSite’s NaviCloud portfolio.
CommVault will provide data protection and management capabilities for customers using NaviCloud Director, an enterprise-class cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IAAS) solution offered directly to customers via an intuitive self-service portal, and also delivered in conjunction with NaviSite’s broad portfolio of managed services.
“Our clients come to us for solutions that can readily scale to meet their enterprise level requirements, while reducing risk and providing value back to the business,” said David Grimes, chief technology officer, NaviSite. “Simpana software satisfies our requirements and provides the capabilities of multiple point products we were evaluating within a single solution − providing a great degree of flexibility for our clients, while resulting in less complexity and costs for our internal organisations.”
As adoption of cloud infrastructures continues to grow, service providers need to build solutions that are automated, flexible and simple to address end-user client needs, all while reducing their infrastructure costs, enhancing staff productivity and accelerating time-to-revenue.
CommVault has designed Simpana software to be an open cloud data management platform offering broad integration with multiple applications, operating systems, hypervisors, and storage systems. Currently, more than 200 service providers deliver cloud and managed solutions powered by CommVault.
“CommVault Simpana software provides the data protection, recoverability and pay-as-you-go licensing options NaviSite requires to deliver high availability and access to business-critical applications that meet customer service level requirements,” said Paul McClure, chief technologist, cloud solutions group, CommVault. “With CommVault, service provider partners can support a comprehensive catalogue of cloud data services – across backup, archive, disaster recovery, and search – all with a single software platform.”
