Overland Storage, a global provider of unified data management and data protection solutions across the data lifecycle, has appointed Global Distribution FZE as its distributor.
Under the accord, Global Distribution will supply the regional channel with the vendor’s entire array including the recently launched V3 hyper-converged virtual desktop appliance to address the rapidly growing virtualisation and cloud markets.
“With the appointment of Global as a strategic partner, they will be among the first to be enabled to deploy and support VDI technology in the Middle East. We are honoured to have Global in our early adoption scheme. I believe with Global’s reach and technical capabilities, we will be able to build a strong VDI business together,” said Tan Lee Ann, regional sales director APAC and Middle East at Overland.
“Our Veljovic says the company’s vision is to enable the reseller community to embrace solutions selling and we are committed to offer our partners the latest technology in the market and all necessary support to become successful. Partnering with Overland Storage, with its pioneering technologies, is a great step forward in our mission. Being among the first to introduce their latest VDI solutions in the region is a great privilege. We are very pleased to have Overland Storage on board with us,” added Mario M. Veljovic, vice president, Solutions MENA at Global Distribution FZE.
The addition of V3 virtual desktop appliances expands the value proposition that Overland Storage’s worldwide channel partners can offer to customers who want to overcome many of the management, complexity and performance weaknesses of physical desktops and traditional virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
“VDI workloads are well served by hyper-converged solutions, however the management of desktops across diverse environments remains challenging,” said Terri McClure, senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group, Inc. “With the Desktop Cloud Orchestrator management software and V3 Appliance, Overland is focused on the right pain points for end users considering VDI.”
