Huawei recently hosted President Jakaya Kikwete of the United Republic of Tanzania, at its headquarters in Shenzhen. He held talks with Huawei Officials in which they “deeply exchanged views on Tanzania’s 2025 ICT development plan.”
A Huawei press release said president Kikwete warmly welcomed Huawei’s continued investment in Tanzania to help innovate and develop the local ICT industry.
Huawei will continue to work closely with the government, operators, and local universities to train ICT engineers and build talent within the local community, especially with the aim of supporting the planned reformation of Tanzania Telecommunication Company Limited (TTCL).
During his visit, President Kikwete, said, “It has been a pleasure to visit Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen today, and to have the opportunity to discuss developing and reforming the ICT industry in Tanzania. I look forward to building upon our relationship as Huawei continues to support the Tanzanian government in communications technology innovation as we work to reform the national company, TTCL.”
Huawei is the leading ICT equipment and solutions provider in Tanzania. Collaborations with local telecommunications companies, including TTCL, Vodacom, Airtel, Tigo and Zantel, have resulted in Huawei’s products and solutions connecting millions of people in the country.
