Channel Post spoke to Vishal Bhatia, the Channel Sales Manager at Gwawa, about their products and their partnership with EMT Distribution

Tell us about Gwawa and its offerings.
Gwawa is a Canadian brand founded in 2001. We are into the business of unified archiving and messaging security. Unified archiving means not just archiving your
emails, but our technology also offers archiving of content on your mobile devices running operating systems such as Android and BlackBerry.
Our solutions also archive content from social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter. We also have a global level tie up with companies such as Microsoft, Novell, and BlackBerry.
What demand do you see for unified archiving solutions in the Middle East?
The potential in the Middle East for archiving solutions is really huge. This will grow especially after the regulatory compliance. Email archiving needs are growing in this region and we have received good response from companies in the Middle East and visitors at GITEX Technology Week, which concluded last week.
Customers are really interested in the solutions we have to offer. We have recently tied up with EMT Distribution for the entire GCC region. We currently have over 15000 customers across the globe and that itself speaks for our solutions.
Which industry sector is your focus right now?
We are not limited to one particular industry sector. We have 15000+ customers, which includes a wide range of industry sectors, including enterprise, government, banking, education, public sector, and so on.
Tell us about your partnership with EMT Distribution.
We have recently tied up with EMT Distribution for the complete GCC region. At GITEX Technology Week, we had a presence at EMT Distribution’s stand. We used the opportunity to meet up with partners and talk to them about our products and solutions.
One of the challenges we face in this region is that not all companies are aware of unified archiving solutions. When we say archiving, companies misunderstand the solution for data backup solutions. However, there really is a big difference between archiving and backup solutions.
An archiving solution helps to do a lot. A backup solution will not generate reports, will not export any communication into a PDF file, and has many limitations. An archiving solution on the other hand will do all of the above and more.
Awareness needs to be created, and this is something we will focus on doing this year with our partner EMT Distribution.
