Flash memory products will be embedded in nearly four billion devices by 2016 and is expected to increase by a billion each year. This according to SanDisk Corporation, a global leader in flash storage solutions, who will showcase its latest product range at this year’s Gitex Technology Week with Mitsumi. The company is well positioned this Gitex to discuss trends, grow business and share insights on the solid-state drives [SSDs] and flash memory products embedded inside smartphones and tablets.
Over the past few years SanDisk has made a significant impact in the region and hopes to repeat the same success in Africa. The company has a market share of more than 20 per cent in the data storage industry while it has market share of around 40 per cent in the Middle East. Two thirds of its business comes from OEMs while one third from retail business.
“We are excited to be represented at one of the most powerful technology events in the region,” said Tareq Husseini, Regional Sales Director Mediterranean Middle East and Africa at SanDisk. “Our expansion plans into Africa are showing tremendous potential and reinforces our objective to expand our product reach into the continent.”
