Wacom launches Bamboo Pad

Bamboo Pad is Wacom’s solution for adding navigation gestures, drawing, and handwriting capabilities to the normal PC experience. Once plugged into any Windows 8 (or Windows 7) operated laptop or desktop computer the authentic and natural navigation experience starts at once.

Bamboo Pad in-use

“Far from being just another touch pad on the market, the Bamboo Pad caters to the numerous individuals who want to use gestures for navigation. Ideal for adding personal signatures, drawing digitally or writing handwritten comments onto documents, the Bamboo Pad offers the typical experience of a pressure sensitive Wacom stylus”, Rüdiger Spohrer, Vice-President Marketing EMEA, points out.

The Bamboo Pad uses Wacom’s renowned and patented pen technology (Wacom feel IT technologies), while the pad’s ultra-slim design offers comfortable usage that provides comfort throughout long working hours. Unlike a traditional computer mouse, the new pad offers multi-touch gestures (particularly when used in conjunction with Windows® 8) which feel natural.

Communication becomes even more visual and fun by adding sketches, drawings or handwriting with the included stylus. Emails can include personal signatures, highlighted words and paragraphs which help readers get straight to the point. Windows 8 users also have the chance to download the new Bamboo Page app from the Windows Store for free. This software allows users to note-take and sketch.

Being an expert in sensor technology for digital pens and touch displays, Wacom now offers a two-in-one interface device that feels natural, looks stylish and gives users the opportunity to add a little bit of fun and creativity to everyday office life.

The Wacom technology ensures that gestures and handwriting never interfere with each other as the pad recognises the pen or finger and automatically deactivates either the touch or the pen functions. While running Windows 7 and 8, individuals simply plug the pad in, while Apple computer owners (MacOS 10.7 or later) will need to install a driver first, which can be downloaded from the Wacom support website.

The Bamboo Pad is available with a wireless or a USB cable connection. Available in four stylish designs, users can choose from either a discrete grey with a shiny surface or a white pad with one of three fresh and fashionable colour accents in blue, light green or purple (wireless connection only). Of course every feel-enabled Bamboo Stylus can also be used on the Bamboo Pad.

The Bamboo Pad (USB version) is priced at $ 49.95 dollars whilst the wireless version costs $ 69.95 dollars.
