Leading new age storage vendor, Actifio announced that it has been chosen as one of Gartner’s Cool Vendors in Storage Technologies for 2012.
Actifio’s Protection and Availability Storage (PAS) is a single, virtualised storage system for backup, disaster recovery, business continuity and test/development, delivering instant access to information at 90 percent lower cost than the traditional tools.
Actifio PAS optimises the management of copies of data, by capturing data once and re-using it for multiple applications, eliminating backup software and its associated backup and restore windows, individual point tools for replication, and test and development.
Gartner researched a number of emerging companies and selected five it felt “provide innovative storage capabilities and/or contain the costs associated with storage and storage management.”
“We believe being named a Cool Vendor by Gartner confirms what Actifio users having been experiencing for several years – a radically simple approach to backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and test and development. End-to-end virtualization of the IT stack delivered by Actifio’s PAS Platform is key to transforming IT into a cloud service, private or public, delivered at an unprecedented low cost point. We’re honored to be recognized by Gartner and for being named in this year’s Cool Vendors report,” said Ash Ashutosh, founder and CEO of Actifio.
Actifio PAS is the industry’s first storage platform to introduce virtualization into data management addressing IT’s most pressing challenges – backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, test and development, analytics and compliance. By virtualizing the management and retention of data, the Actifio PAS platform transforms the chaos of multiple silos of data, infrastructure and single function point tools into one, radically simple, Service Level-driven solution that results in 10X reduction in costs.
