Dubai Quality Group (DQG) officially launched “The CIO Arabia Subgroup” in an event that was attended by over 50 senior IT professionals in Dubai.
During the event, a presentation entailing the vision, mission and objectives of CIO Arabia was provided to the audience who also utilised the opportunity to discuss current developments in the IT industry and share plans.
Saleh Janeeh, Chairman of Dubai Quality Group, said: “We believe that the new subgroup will fill a gap that exists now in the application of information technology which has been growing tremendously and is a vital part of every business, government sector and even every home.
Sketching a brief history of DQG, he recalled that the body was established in 1994 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoom with an aim to be an internationally-recognized knowledge hub that promotes business excellence and enhances competitiveness of the business community.
Bassem Abu Khatir, Vice Chairman of CIO Arabia commented: “Finally, we have a forum through which we can voice our opinion, discuss our concerns and establish benchmarks pertaining to the Middle East region.”
