Aptec's CEO joins Microsoft DPAC

Dr. Ali Baghdadi, CEO & President of Aptec Holdings

Leading value-added distributors in the Middle East and North Africa, Aptec Holdings announced that recently its CEO and President, Dr. Ali Baghdadi has joined the Microsoft Distribution Partner Advisory Council (DPAC).

Earlier this year Microsoft had extended a formal invitation to Dr. Baghdadi to participate in the global Microsoft Distribution Partner Advisory Council (DPAC) representing the Middle East, which took place last month in Seattle, USA.

Microsoft Distribution Partner Advisory Council is strategic business forum between the executive leadership of Microsoft and a select number of authorized Microsoft distributors with strong local or regional presence. And, the Advisory Council is comprised of 25 Distribution Executives within Microsoft’s global distributor partner community and reflects the geographical and market diversity of Microsoft distribution ecosystem.

Agendas of the Advisory Council’s meetings are member-driven and focus on strategic and mutually-relevant topics, including Microsoft distribution business strategy development, channel sales program enhancements and investment plans, Microsoft product strategies, cloud computing, field engagement and other. Microsoft DPAC sessions take place twice a year in different parts of the world.

Dr. Ali Baghdadi, CEO and President of Aptec Group, commented after attending the November Advisory Council, “I am delighted to have participated in the Microsoft Distribution Partner Advisory Council. Given our involvement in the distribution of traditional license and OEM products as well as being a VAD and our recent appointment as a Cloud distributor, I had a chance to share issues and experiences of the channel in the Middle East and Africa. This is a win- win- win scenario for Microsoft, distributors and resellers.”

Aptec Holdings is a Microsoft authorized distributor in Middle East and North Africa since 1994. Current distribution agreement with Microsoft includes all GCC countries (including Saudi Arabia), Egypt and Lebanon as authorized territories for distribution. Aptec received Microsoft VAD and Microsoft Cloud Distributor statuses, the first in the region among all distributors, earlier this year.

Pierre Nel, MEA SMB & Distribution Lead at Microsoft Corporation, said, “We would like to congratulate Aptec on their nomination to join the global Microsoft Distribution Partner Advisory Council. We are excited to further strengthen our business relationship with Aptec and work together to combine efforts to grow distribution and channel business in the region.”
