Huawei showcases its vision regarding the role of AI in digital transformation

During Eitesal’s first technological webinar, Huawei Technologies showcased its vision regarding the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) while achieving the digital transformation, in addition to the great growth opportunities, it presents through being integrated into various industry applications. Additionally, Huawei also manifested the effectiveness of the solutions and services that it provides in the field of AI.

The technological webinar tackled vital topics such as AI and the future cloud solutions in Egypt. Organized by “Eitesal” chaired by Dr. Hazem El-Tahawy and moderated by Dr. Khaled Sherif, Head of Communications Group at Eitesal Association. Huawei’s participation in this webinar stems from its extensive experience in the field of communications and information technology.

Dr. Hazem El Tahawy praised the efforts of Huawei in applying a quantum leap in the world of communications and information technology in Egypt and the Middle East. El Tahawy also applauded the company’s robust and effective contribution to transferring its global expertise, as well as providing permanent and relentless support to create new generations that are capable of overcoming the hindrances of the future.
Mahdy then added that Huawei’s role is not merely confined to reinforcing digital transformation, but also has to do with working to provide swift and smart solutions. He also pointed out that Huawei is deemed as one of the largest investors in the field of research and development, especially that it invested $ 15 billion in 2018, and it is currently planning to invest $ 100 billion during the next five years. He also stated that back in 2004, Huawei used to own 20% of the telecom market share. Nevertheless, things have changed, as Huawei now owns 27-28% of the telecom market share.
Dr. Khaled Sherif, Head of the Communications Group at Eitesal, said that Huawei is considered to be a strategic key player that supports the Egyptian government while underpinning the country’s efforts relevant to achieving digital transformation, via high-quality digital platforms of data transmission and communication operations. These platforms aim to empower the companies and institutions across all the commercial and industrial sectors, whether operating under the umbrella of the public or the private sector. All of that is accomplished with the aim of achieving a real technological revolution in Egypt that would extend for several centuries to come.
