Please share a brief about your company?
Secure Land Communications (SLC) is an Airbus programme unit that offers advanced communication and collaboration solutions to gather, process and deploy intelligence. With 30 years of experience in digital radio communication, SLC serves a large number of mission-critical and government organizations in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and the Asia Pacific. Our portfolio, which is tailored to the needs of professionals from public safety, and transport, utility and industry fields, includes infrastructures, devices, applications and services based on Tetra, Tetrapol and broadband technologies.

Which products will you be displaying at Gitex?
This year’s Gitex will be an ideal venue for us to highlight the advanced technical features of our secure and reliable communications technologies and infrastructures currently being widely used by first responders, including our medical front liners. We will particularly showcase, in the upcoming 2020 edition, the multimedia features of our Tactilon Agnet 500 and Tactilon Agnet 800 solutions.

Tactilon Agnet 500 facilitates efficient end-to-end and encrypted group communication. This reliable and secure push-to-talk device enables video calls and real-time location tracking, among other capabilities. On the other hand Airbus’ Tactilon Agnet 800is equipped with multimedia messaging and live-streaming capabilities to enrich communication between smartphone users and people who carry a Tetra radio.

Which industry verticals are key drivers for your business in the region?
We cater to the needs of a wide range of industry verticals. Particularly, we serve the public safety, transport, oil and gas, and energy sectors. The police, paramedics, lifeguards and airport personnel, among others, consider our communication and collaboration solutions as a critical part of their everyday work.

How do your products help the industry?
Our solutions are essential to the daily work of first responders both from private and government agencies, including police, emergency and transport such as airports. These agencies use the Tactilon Agnet collaboration platform as well as the Tactilon Dabat smartphone and terminal-in-one. Tactilon Agnet offers secure, efficient, and reliable one-to-one team communications between Tetra radios and smartphones at the touch of a button. The unique tool also gives the control rooms an overview of where different users and teams are situated, with its geo-localization features.

Tactilon Dabat, on the other hand, is a hybrid smartphone and a Tetra radio in-one. It ensures secure collaboration through its video, text, voice data and location tracking and reporting services. By maximizing our solutions’ communication and collaboration capabilities, organizations can achieve operational efficiency and faster response time as they safeguard our people and society.

Furthermore, we are now moving progressively to hybrid solutions. As such, we provide not only professional radio technology but solutions designed for smartphone use as well. Our solutions that highlight the hybrid approach are our Dabat Hybrid Roaming feature on Tactilon Dabat and our Tactilon Agnet 800 solution – both of which guarantee, interoperability, high network resilience and secure operations.

In your view, what will be the impact of social distancing and COVID-19 protocols at the event?
We are looking forward to participating in Gitex this year. We expect a large turnout as all precautionary measures will be put in place and observed to keep exhibitors and visitors safe and secure. We will also do our part to ensure safe face-to-face interactions with everyone. At Airbus, we feel confident as Dubai moves steadily and gradually towards bringing back vibrancy to the business sector.

What do you expect to gain from the show?
As one of the most prominent and biggest technology events in the region, Gitex will be an opportunity for us to showcase our capabilities and solutions as well as safely interact in-person with potential partners, prospects, and visitors. This experience will be valuable for our company as we work towards reaching more entities that are seeking to upgrade their communication infrastructure.

Where can visitors find Airbus exhibiting at Gitex?
We will exhibit at Professional Communication Corporation- Nedaa Stand: S3-B11 and Etisalat booth in Za’abeel Hall.
