Growth in data-driven applications

Channel Post speaks with Christian Putz, Director – EEMEA at Pure Storage on their participation at GITEX 2017.

Christian Putz, Director – EEMEA at Pure Storage

Why did you choose to participate in GITEX Technology Week 2017?

GITEX remains one of the most important events for us, providing us with a huge platform to showcase our products to a large audience under one roof. Recent innovations like FlashArray//X and the expansion of our FlashBlade product line will allow us to take our platform and technology to a completely new level and we look forward to sharing our story with the Middle East technology community at GITEX 2017.

Can you give us details of your hall and booth at the event?

Just like we did last year, we will have a significant presence at the show in the form of a double-decker stand. We can be found in Hall 6, Stand CLD-15

What are you showcasing at GITEX Technology Week 2017?

At GITEX 2017, we will be showcasing our latest cloud-enabled, all-flash data platform, powered by the combination of FlashArray//X, the company’s first all-NVMe, enterprise-class, all-flash array for high performance structured data workloads and FlashBlade, the company’s all-flash array built for high-performance unstructured data workloads.

What technology trends have you seen in the Middle East and Africa market?

With the growth in data-driven applications, the center of gravity in the data center is shifting away from compute and toward data storage. With disaggregation, fast networking, RDMA, NVMe-oF et al., these trends will only accelerate in the months and years ahead. All of this is happening just in time to provide a far more effective data platform for rich, data-driven prediction including AI and deep learning, and positioning Pure as an ideal partner to help organizations derive maximal value from their data.

Do you have any plans to launch any new products, solutions or technologies at GITX Technology Week this year?

We will use GITEX 2017 for the regional launch of FlashArray//X. Built on proven FlashArray architecture, FlashArray//X, the company’s first all-NVMe, enterprise class all-flash array, enables true global flash management with new Purity DirectFlash software and NVMe DirectFlash Modules from Pure Storage, which eliminate performance bottlenecks associated with legacy technologies. This end-to-end, software-to-raw flash optimization over NVMe dramatically improves system performance and allows customers to further unlock the value of their data. Among FlashArray models, //X represents a higher performance tier for mission-critical databases, top-of-rack flash deployments, and Tier 1 application consolidation. //X is optimized for the lowest-latency workloads and delivers an unprecedented level of performance density that puts previously unattainable levels of consolidation within reach.
