Case Study: Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE) Works With HID to Improve Security

HID Global has announced that it worked with Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE) to upgrade its access control solutions. The company has deployed Seos smart cards and HID Mobile Access, making it possible for MRHE employees to use a combination of smart cards, smartphones and wearables to open doors throughout the facility. The new solution supports MRHE’s strategy to implement an innovative and advanced secure access control system that has significantly improved the employee experience.

“HID Mobile Access allows us to extend the use of smartphones and wearables to access our office, which has helped provide a convenient, secure and user-friendly experience to our employees. The solution is cost-effective, simple to use and allows us to manage employee credentials efficiently,” said Talal Al Ali, Smart Services Department Director with MRHE.

The use of advanced Seos smart cards and HID Mobile Access has enabled MRHE to increase security throughout the MRHE office in Dubai. The mobile access solution has also given employees the option to use their credential of choice, while also simplifying management for administrators with its straightforward portal for issuing, managing and revoking Mobile IDs to smartphones and wearables.

HID Global partnered with regional experts, EPM Systems & Solutions to deploy the new Seos card and HID Mobile Access at MRHE. “HID Global’s solution integrated perfectly into MRHE’s credentials management platform. The ease of installation allowed us to deploy the solution speedily,” said Hadi Omer, Sales and Marketing Director with EPM Systems & Solutions. Mobile-ready iCLASS SE Readers had been previously installed at MHRE as part of their phased upgrade plan.

”MHRE is a perfect example of an organization that executed a solid upgrade strategy to prepare for the inevitability of using mobile devices for enterprise applications such as access control,” said Harm Radstaak, Vice President and Managing Director of Physical Access Control Solutions with HID Global. “Mobility is on the rise in the Middle East, and the demand for smarter environments continues to grow worldwide. MRHE’s Seos smart card and HID Mobile Access deployment validates this trend, and HID Global’s solutions provide the perfect balance between convenience and security in the connected building.”

Following their successful upgrade to a more flexible and secure access control system, MHRE is exploring adding new capabilities to employees’ trusted IDs in the future. “At MRHE, we now have a mixed technology environment of cards, smartphones and wearables, providing our employees the ultimate freedom of choice to use what credential they prefer.  In the future, we are also looking forward to using it for more applications, such as for secure printing and IT security,” said Talal Al Ali, Smart Services Department Director with MRHE.
