Fortinet today announced that new IDC network security appliances tracker reveals that the company is the No. 1 vendor in Middle East region for the first quarter of 2015, based on factory revenue.

This solid leadership position is fueled by continued adoption of Fortinet’s FortiGate network security appliances by enterprises of all sizes, as well as managed security service providers (MSSPs) and telecommunications carriers.

“Fortinet continues to gain market share and our leadership in the region simply validates our value proposition, continued innovation, and consistent security vision,” said Alain Penel, Regional Vice President – Middle East, Fortinet.

According to IDC, the network security solutions are defined as a combination of hardware, software and networking technologies whose primary function is to protect corporate networks and network-embedded resources from disruption caused by external threats. In this market, IDC includes firewall, unified threat management, intrusion detection and prevention and virtual private network products.
