Dubai Computer Group to host DCG-WD Cricket League 2013

Dubai Computer Group, which was formed with the objective of unifying the computer business entrepreneurs in Dubai, is for the first time hosting a cricket tournament.

The event will be co-hosted by WD, who is the Cricket League’s sponsor and hence the trophy has been named DCG-WD Circket League 2013.

DCG received overwhelming response for the cricket tournament proposal and 12 teams were included for the tournament. It has been quite an eventful period for DCG with the weekly DCG newsletter being released followed by the cricket tournament being organiDCG-WD Cricket League 2013-announcementsed.

Speaking to the press, Shailandra Rughwani, the President of DCG, thanked the DCG working committee, Western Digital and all the members for their collective support for this cricket initiative by DCG.

“WD is one of the world’s leading storage solutions providers and one of our focuses is to build lasting relationships with channel partners in every region. Local events such as this gives us a way to further bond with regional stakeholders from a more personal standpoint,” explained Mohammed Owais, the Sales Director for Middle East and Africa at WD.

DCG’s working committee member Suchit Kumar briefed the press about the cricket tournament. It will be a one day indoor cricket tournament to be held on 29 November, 2013. The tournament will be held at United Pro Sports at Al Quoz. The event will start at 8 am and 12 teams will battle it out for the DWG-WD Cricket League 2013. Four groups have been formed with three teams in each group.

The participating companies include Accent Office Supplies LLC,  Achiever Computer LLC, Asbis Middle East FZE, Cursor Technologies FZCO, Datamedia Solutions LLC, Experts Computer LLC, Mitsumi Distribution FZCO, Quality Computers LLC, Redington Gulf FZCO, Soft Magic Systems LLC, Techcom International Computers LLC, and Trigon LLC.

DCG will also be conducting election for the 12 seat board membership of DCG during the third week of December 2013. Nominations are now open for all registered members.
