Leading Indian technology company, Sonata Software Ltd,  formed a joint venture with Mohammad Nasser Abdullah Al MISNAD under the name of Sonata Software (Qatar) WLL to provide business-focused technologies and solutions to the Qatari enterprises.

The new JV will leverage Sonata’s vast experience in ERP implementations across industry verticals and partnerships with leaders like SAP, Oracle and Microsoft to partner customers in their ERP implementation. These will involve upgrade and support initiatives on Microsoft DynamicsAX, Oracle eBusiness Suite and SAP.

Sanjay Viswanathan, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, said “Sonata Software has a strong focus on Qatar and pledges long term commitment to the region. We will create on-shore and near-shore capabilities in Qatar and more importantly, will provide opportunities for local expertise to work on key Technology projects.”

The JV will operate from Doha, Qatar and will focus on delivering services around ERP implementation and support, e-Commerce, collaboration solutions, BI, mobility and cloud solutions to enterprises in the region. It will target the Top 100 enterprises in Qatar, apart from multinationals with a strong presence in the country as well as the public sector.

Sonata Software (Qatar) WLL will build on a three year relationship with a leading national airline where there is an embedded Sonata team of 50 professionals. Sonata Software has also worked extensively with 16 other enterprises throughout the Gulf region that have similar business models and IT requirements.

Sonata’s delivery approach involves pre-built solution accelerators – for vertical markets such as construction, manufacturing and distribution – and a proven global delivery model that help reduce cost, time and risk involved in such projects.

The company will focus on some of the other “ERP surround” technologies – like business intelligence, collaboration & enterprise social networking, mobility and cloud – means it can be a “one-stop IT partner” with Qatari enterprises in their transformational IT initiatives.

“Qatar is a strategic market for our growth. The JV will enable Qatar to become a Country of Technological Excellence (CTE) by leveraging on Sonata’s world class practices, processes, frameworks, tools and people”, Sanjay added.
